Graphic Designer turns an old buried idea into a dream come true

I am a Graphic Designer by trade and a closet artist. Many years back on one of my creative moments at home, I drew up an idea about making wood surfboards as a decoration piece. I put this idea away and later when I met my wife, I showed her the design and she encouraged me to go for it. 

We first opened an Etsy store in 2019 with making blank wood surfboard pieces. The response was incredible and orders started to stack up, I was blown away! Customers began asking if I could personalize them for a birthday, a wedding, a nursery or special room. My creative mind exploded, and in the last few years, it has turned into a full time operation.

My wife and I wanted our store to reflect the passion we have for the ocean, and so the name "Follow Your Wave" was born. For us, this is not just a name for our business, it's our mantra.

I love the ideas my customers come up with for these surfboards. I have made personalized boards for baby nurseries, weddings, graduations, birthdays, family memories, beach and tiki theme restaurants, business signage, coastal home decor and many more. People also still order my original blank surfboards to make their own designs and special projects. Since the blanks remained in high demand, we began to offer wholesale orders. 

I am so grateful for what once was just an old buried idea, now has become a dream come true business!
